by Tavolino
Tender meat skewers made from pork neck and cured ham, skewered alternately with bell peppers and onions, braised in a spicy tomato-curry sauce.

Ingredients
- Onions 3 pcs
- Pork neck 500 g
- Cured ham 300 g
- Bell peppers 3 pcs
- Oil 3 tbsp
- Beef broth 150 ml
- Strained tomatoes 1000 ml
- Curry powder 1 tbsp
- Honey 3 tbsp
- Cumin 3 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Garlic powder 1 tsp
- Sweet paprika powder 1 tbsp
Preparation
- 1
Peel the onions. Cut the pork neck, cured ham, bell peppers, and onions into large cubes.
- 2
Thread the ingredients onto skewers in an alternating pattern. Place meat or ham at the end of the skewer to ensure everything stays in place.
- 3
Heat oil in a pan and sear the shashlik skewers thoroughly on all sides.
- 4
Remove the seared skewers from the pan and set aside.
- 5
For the sauce, dice the remaining onions, ham, and bell peppers, sauté briefly in the pan, and cook for 10 minutes.
- 6
Deglaze the vegetables with 150 ml of beef broth and transfer everything into a large pot.
- 7
Add 1000 ml of strained tomatoes to the pot.
- 8
Season generously with 1 tbsp curry powder, 3 tbsp honey, 3 tsp cumin, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika powder.
- 9
Let the sauce simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
- 10
Place the shashlik skewers into the sauce and braise over low heat for 90 minutes.
